Time Wrap Again

Despite not feeling my best last weeks, I managed to get things done and had some social life too!. We're making the most of longer days and sunny spells, even if it's cold and rainy most days. I'll take you two weeks ago, when I went for a walk and ran errands on Sunday morning. I also visited my friend M. for a chat&crafts evening at her home, we painted some textiles and had tea and biscuits.

Aunque no he estado en plena forma en las últimas semanas, he seguido haciendo cosas e incluso teniendo vida social, aprovechando que los días son más largos y va haciendo un poquito de sol de vez en cuando. Aunque hemos tenido un tiempo frío y lluvioso casi todo el rato. Y ahora vamos con el salto temporal, hasta hace dos semanas, cuando salí a pasear y al mercadillo del Domingo. Y luego también visité a mi amiga M. para pasar una tarde entretenidas pintando ropa y tomando té y galletitas y charlando mucho, claro!.

Next day Mr.A. drove me to a medical appointment and then we collected a side table from owner (contacted through a second-hand website) on a windy and cold Thursday. It's just a small side table to put a cup of tea and a book when we sit on our sofa, and it substitutes another one from Ikea which was too low. Amazingly, we have had our Ikea side table for twenty years and it's still in good condition so it was donated to a coworker. Fast fashion made slow.

Al día siguiente Mr.A. me acompañó a una cita médica y luego fuimos a recoger una mesa auxiliar, adquirida a través de una página de compra-venta, a casa del vendedor. Es una mesita para poner junto al sofá y dejar una taza o un libro o revistas, y sustituye a otra mesita del Ikea, demasiado baja, que hemos tenido veinte años y que regalé a una compañera de trabajo. Haciendo durar la moda rápida!.

Finally, I wore same dress twice in a row, totally a Repeat Offender, as I wore similar outfits previously. That striped dress was shopped at CandA sales. Fuchsia turtleneck was retail shopped. Snag Tights (Anemone Colour). Sneakers by Adidas outlet. Retail shopped coat (years ago). Crochet cardi. Charity shopped necklace.

Finalmente, me puse el mismo vestido dos veces seguidas, totalmente Reincidente, y además es algo que ya me he puesto varias veces antes. El vestido de rayas es de rebajas del CandA. Cuello vuelto fucsia vino de alguna tiendecita. Medias Snag (color Anemone). Zapatillas de Adidas outlet. Abrigo de una tienda local, de hace ya años. Chaqueta ganchillo. Collar de una tienda solidaria.

It has taken ages to find somebody who could move that bureau from Mom's home (most removal companies not even considered it), but finally I found (actually, my friend M. did) a mover who did it on a budget!. And now this (quite posh) piece of furniture is in my crafty corner, and I'm extremely happy with it. Not only I feel quite attached to it, as it was acquired specially for me when I was a teenager, but it's also practical to keep my things tidy!

Ha costado trabajito encontrar quien me hiciera la mudanza de este buró desde la casa de mi madre (la mayoría de empresas ni se molestan por algo tan pequeño) pero finalmente encontré (bueno, lo encontró mi amiga M.) un profesional que hizo el traslado y muy económico. Y ahora tengo este mueble tan elegantón en mi rincón y estoy muy contenta, no sólo por cuestión sentimental, ya que este mueble me lo compraron especialmente cuando era adolescente, sino también porque es muy práctico para mantener mis cositas ordenadas.

That was what I wore last Monday, when the weather was cold again so some vitaminic colours were needed to cheer up my day. Orange skirt to the rescue!. That skirt was sewed by me ages ago (its fabric came from Ikea and it was not a unique piece, as I repeated same pattern again and again!). That grey cardi is ages old. Polka dot blouse was a second hand find. Tights by Snag. Sneakers by Adidas outlet. Coat and scarf were retail shopped years ago. Necklace was a present. 'Iris' brooch was retail shopped.

Esto es lo que me puse el pasado lunes, cuando el tiempo volvía a ser frío y se necesitaba un color vitamínico para animar el día. Naranja al rescate!. Esta falda la cosí hace unos años, con tela del Ikea, y no fue la única porque repetí el patrón varias veces. La chaquetita gris es antiquísima. Camiseta de lunaritos de segunda mano. Medias Snag. Zapatillas de Adidas outlet. Abrigo y chal de tiendas locales, hace años. Collar fue un regalo. El broche de 'Iris' es de una mercería.

I've been busy not only decorating my 'crafty corner' but also crafting. Some time ago I was asked by Mr.A. to restore his ebook cover which I did. That cover was still structurally perfect and useful, but its surface was peeling off, so annoying. Now it's mine which is falling apart, so I've just removed any rest and relined the cover with some fabric from my stash. Now we have some cool covers!

He estado ocupada no sólo redecorando el rincón de manualidades, sino también haciendo algunas!. Hace ya un tiempo le hice un arreglo a la carcasa del ebook de Mr.A. que estaba perfecta estructuralmente, y servía, pero la superficie se pelaba toda, qué fastidio!. Y ahora le ha tocado a la mía, que también se estaba pelando, así que le quité todos los restos y luego le pegué un trozo de tela. Así que ahora tenemos fundas chulas, sin coste!

I wore another self-sewed skirt next day, that one was made of a piece of upholstery fabric. Lots of comments about that print!. It was another cold day, so I wore a wool cardi (ages old) and some crochet mittens. Puff coat by Ulla Popken. Boots by NorthFace outlet.

Al día siguiente me puse esta falda, también de costura propia, que hice hace tiempo con una tela de tapicería. Siempre me hacen comentarios sobre el estampado de cómic. Era otro día frío, así que me puse una chaqueta de lana (antigüita) y unos mitones de ganchillo. Abrigo acolchado de Ulla Popken. Botas de NorthFace outlet.

I did some 'shopping in my own wardrobe' and found those bags which were quite neglected. Both are quality pieces, the green one was acquired at a clearance sale decades ago, and the other one was a hand-me-down by Mom. I still love them but their crossbody straps were not my thing anymore. So I took them to the cobbler who created some handles for them. And I still can use them as crossbody bags if I wish, only adding a strap.

También fuí de compras en mi propio armario, y encontré estos bolsos que hacía tiempo que no me ponía, aunque todavía me gustan, pero son bolsos cruzados al hombro y ya no me viene bien. Son piezas de calidad, el verde lo compré en una liquidación y el otro me lo dió mi madre. Así que los llevé al zapatero que me hizo un asa nueva para convertirlos en bolsos de mano. Y puedo seguir usándolos cruzados si les engancho una correa, así que no pierdo nada!

The weather has improved last days, even if still rainy and windy (not the best conditions for taking photos outdoors!). So I wore a summery dress (from Vinted) under my raincoat. Tights by Snag. Shoes by Camper.

El tiempo ha ido mejorando los últimos días, aunque ha seguido lluvioso y con mucho viento, que no es lo mejor para tomar fotos en exteriores. Así que me puse un vestido veraniego de Vinted bajo mi abrigo impermeable. Medias de Snag. Zapatos Camper.

Hello March!

February's last week was totally 'business as usual', only that the weather was a little bit colder and properly wintery. So it was time for coats again and some layers too!.

La última semana de febrero fue de total y completa normalidad, sólo que el tiempo se puso un poco más frío, adecuadamente invernal. Así que de nuevo tiempo de abrigos y de ponerse varias capas de ropa también.

Who can resist the blooming almond trees?, there are lots of thems all around, in parks and gardens, and they create such an amazing atmosphere, a spring breeze when it's still winter. I take lots of pics of them every year!. I asked Mr.A. to take a photo when we were running errands on Saturday morning. I was wearing second hand skirt and blouse (both came from Sunday street market), Snag tights ('Anemone' colour, I made the most of recent sales!), Adidas sneakers (old) and a summery crochet cardi under my retail shopped coat (old).

¿Cómo resistirse a los almendros en flor?, se ven por todas partes, en los parques y huertos en cuanto sales a caminar, y casi te hacen creer que la primavera está a la vuelta de la esquina, incluso si aún es invierno. Siempre les saco fotos cada año!. Le pedí a Mr.A. unas fotos cuando estábamos haciendo recados el sábado por la mañana. Llevaba falda y blusa de segunda mano (ambos del mercadillo del domingo), medias Snag (color Anemone, de las recientes rebajas), zapatillas Adidas antiguas y una chaquetita de ganchillo veraniega, bajo el abrigo que compré en una tienda local hace años.

Colores combinados para un día de mucho viento. Elegí este vestido azul con florecitas azuladas y rojas, así que le añadí más detalles en rojo. La camiseta de rayas vino del CandA. Witchy coat!. It was retail shopped years ago (in the middle of the summer!) at a heavy discount, I liked its massiveness!. Not the most useful coat, as it's not particularly warm nor suitable for rainy days, so it's more a springtime/autumn piece. But it's a great layering piece, its big sleeves and floaty shape can hide a multitude of sins!. I can wear it over a bulky cardigan (with voluminous pockets) like that, for example. And I think it looks great over a maxidress (that one was retail shopped twenty years ago or so).

Abrigo negro y largo muy brujil!, lo compré hace años en una tienda local, en pleno verano, con un descuento buenísimo, me gustó que fuese tan enorme!. No es el abrigo más útil, porque ni es especialmente abrigado, ni sirve para días de lluvia, así que más bien se trata de una prenda de entretiempo. Pero es estupendo para tapar lo que sea, todo lo cubre!. Incluyendo esta chaqueta de ganchillo muy voluminosa y con bolsillos también abultados. Y también queda bien sobre un vestido largo, por ejemplo este vestido que tiene unos veinte años.

Another windy day and I picked a Repeat Offender to add some 'flower power'. That incredibly versatile dress was recently shopped at Vinted (second hand). Red bolero cardi, by Evans (ages old). Black turtleneck by LaRedoute (old). Snag tights. Adidas sneakers (old). Scarf came from an artisan market. And that's Janelle raincoat by Seasalt, a real workhorse that I acquired years ago, wore through some winters and it's still strong. And I'm not sponsored.

Otro día de mucho viento y elegí repetir este vestido, que está resultando muy versátil (y es de Vinted). Chaquetita bolero roja de Evans de hace siglos. Cuello vuelto de LaRedoute. Medias Snag. Zapatillas Adidas. Pañuelo de un mercado artesano. Y este abrigo impermeable es de Seasalt (modelo Janelle) y está resultando también muy versátil, lo compré hace un par de años, me lo he puesto muchísimo y sigue tan estupendo. Y no me patrocinan por decirlo!.

Totally in a Repeat Offender mood, I wore same dress and coat again next day. But added a wool cardi-vest over my dress, and changed my sneakers for Camper shoes (old).

De nuevo en modo reincidente, repetí vestido y abrigo al día siguiente. Pero le añadí un chaleco de lana por encima del vestido, y cambié las zapatillas por unos zapatos Camper.

Nothing new here, everything was worn together previously, (firs time Dic23) so another Repeat Offender. I don't see any problem in wearing same ensemble again and again if I feel like doing it!.
That dress came from Sunday street market (years ago!), turtleneck by LaRedoute, tights by Snag and shoes by Camper. That orange puff jacket was retail shopped and it's a favourite piece in my winter wardrobe because of its vitaminic colour (and it's also lightweight and comfy!)

Nada nuevo por aquí, este mismo conjunto ya lo he llevado antes (la primera vez Dic23) así que es otro Reincidente. No le veo el problema a llevar el mismo conjunto varias veces si me apetece
El vestido es de segunda mano del mercadillo (de hace años), cuello vuelto de LaRedoute, medias Snag y zapatos Camper. La chaqueta acolchada naranja fue una compra local y es una de mis prendas favoritas de invierno por el color tan totalmente vitamínico. Y además es ligera y muy cómoda!.

Winter & Wind

Every time I feel that nothing interesting happened during my week, I make a recap and find that I did lots of things everyday. Monday was particularly busy as I had to run to drop off a parcel and buy some bread after work, went home for lunch and then went groceries shopping in the evening. Tuesday was quite similar but we found the time to book our next holiday!. Wednesday and Thursday were hectic at work as there was some new furniture to be assembled and obviously some decluttering to be done before installing all the stuff again (glad that everything was done in a relaxed atmosphere with good vibes!). More groceries shopping was done on Friday, as we had planned an excursion for Saturday (which finally was posponed). So totally a normal weekly routine!

Cada vez que pienso que no me ha pasado nada interesante durante la semana, hago memoria y encuentro que hice montones de cosas cada día. El lunes fue especialmente entretenido, porque tuve que salir corriendo a dejar un paquete y a comprar pan después del trabajo, fuí a casa a comer y luego salí a hacer compra de comestibles por la tarde. El martes fue muy parecido, pero tuvimos tiempo de reservar para nuestras próximas vacaciones. Miércoles y jueves estuvimos muy liados en la oficina porque llegaron muebles nuevos que había que armar y antes de éso hacer limpieza y quitar trastos. Menos mal que lo tomamos con buen rollo y todo se hizo enseguida. Más compra de comestibles el viernes tarde, porque habíamos planeado una excursión el sábado (aunque al final lo dejamos para otro finde). Así que una semana de lo más normal, que parece que no pasa nada pero sí!

El lunes estaba en modo reincidente, así que repetí el vestido y abrigo que me había puesto el fin de semana. Y es que no puedo resistirme a los colores que conjuntan. Something comfy I wore for work on Wednesday, as some massive decluttering was expected to happen before our new furniture had been assembled. It's amazing what we managed to do in one day!.
It was a windy day, so impossible to take decent photos outdoors!. I wore my trusty Seasalt coat (old), some purple palazzos (originally a jumpsuit by H&M that I acquired second hand, then revamped), also second hand t-shirt and 80's blouse, and boots by NorthFace (outlet)

El miércoles me puse algo muy cómodo para ir a trabajar, porque me veía venir que habría mucho movimiento, ya que teníamos pensado hacer limpieza antes de que montasen los muebles nuevos de oficina. Y es increíble la de trastos que tiramos!.
Hacía bastante viento, así que las fotos fuera resultaron imposibles. Me puse el abrigo de Seasalt, unos pantalones anchos morados (que originalmente fueron un mono-enterizo de H&M que compré de segunda mano y luego reformé), camiseta y blusa ochentera también de segunda mano, y botitas NorthFace outlet.

That's what I wore to the office on Thursday when new furniture was assembled and we arranged everything in its place, which was actually quite funny. I count myself lucky to work in a great atmosphere.

Y esto es lo que llevé a la oficina el jueves, cuando se montaron los muebles nuevos y luego colocamos todo en su lugar, y quedamos bastante contentos, todo se hizo rápido y con buen ambiente, que es lo que importa.

Another Repeat Offender for Friday, as I wore previously same skirt and pullover together at least twice. And I'd like to wear them again, as those are some favourite colours!. That skirt is homegrown vintage (I acquired it when I was seventeen) and pullover was crocheted by me (pattern here). Shoes by Camper. Scarf was retail shopped decades ago. Charity shopped necklace.

Otro Reincidente para el viernes, ya que esta falda y jersey ya me los había puesto anteriormente por lo menos un par de veces. Y pienso seguir repitiendo, porque estos colores me gustan mucho. La falda es vintage de mi propia cosecha, porque la compré cuando tenía unos diecisiete años, y el jersey es de ganchillo. Zapatos Camper. Bufanda de una tiendecita, hace décadas. El collar es de un mercadillo solidario.

We had done our weekly groceries shopping on Friday evening, so were free to wander on Saturday morning. We just bought a loaf of bread and some newspapers before paying a visit to some favourites tabernas for usual apéro. And we also stopped for some photos at a centric city park. I wore some comfy clothes, which I had picked for an excursion (that never happened as we changed our minds), but they were also suitable for a walk in the city (in my book). I wore again same striped trousers and wool cardi than Thursday, and then added a massive neon windbreaker in my usual not-understated style.

Como hicimos la compra semanal el viernes tarde, quedamos libres de obligaciones el sábado por la mañana. Así que simplemente salimos, compramos el pan y el periódico y nos pasamos por los bares habituales a tomar el vermú. Y antes también paramos en un céntrico parque de la ciudad para unas fotos!. Me había puesto ropa cómoda, elegida para la excursión que planeamos y al final cambiamos de opinión, pero que también estaba bien para un paseo urbano (en mi opinión). Repetí pantalón de rayas y chaqueta del jueves y le añadí un cortavientos color verdelima, en mi habitual estilo nada sutil.

Mixed Winter

As the weather oscillates between spring-like and overcast, I've been also changing my colour scheme depending on the mood of the day. From colourful summery clothes to some wintery ones in purple and black (which I also like!), I've always tried to keep it interesting. So important to dress up for fabulousness and comfort particularly when days look dreary!

Ya que el tiempo oscila entre días primaverales a pleno sol y días oscuros y nublados, también yo he estado cambiando de esquema de color dependiendo de cómo salga el día. A veces veraniega y colorida y otras veces en tonos oscuros (que también me gustan), siempre intento que sea interesante. Importante vestirse para estar lo más estupenda y cómoda que se pueda, en especial si el día se presenta triste y aburrido.

Winter is for colours!. Lots of them in that dress by Vinted, which was noticed by my coworkers who commented on it!. Orange puff jacket collaborated in that riot of colour!. I wore a cotton t-shirt (by CandA, old) under my summery dress. Tights by Snag. Sneakers by Sechers. Charity shopped necklace and bracelet. Ring by Ciclón (old)

El invierno también es para los colores vivos, como los de este vestido de Vinted, que recibió comentarios al respecto de mis compañeros de trabajo (muy a favor). También colaboró en la animación mi chaqueta acolchada naranja (de una tienda local). Bajo el vestido, una camiseta del CandA. Medias de Snag. Zapatillas Skechers. Collar y brazalete de tiendas solidarias. Anillo Ciclón (antigüito).

Finally, it was not such a dreary day, felt quite energetic!. I was busy at work, then ran some errands which involved groceries shopping, but also some small tasks at local businesses (and small talk too). Totally my kind of thing.

Al final no salió un día tan aburrido, más bien lo contrario. Estuve entretenidísima en el trabajo, y luego salí a hacer recados, incluyendo comprar comestibles, pero también algunas gestiones en tiendas locales (así que hubo bastante charla). La clase de recados que me gustan.

Colores más oscuros para un día de frío y viento. No quedé muy convencida con el conjunto, (anteriormente) así que lo volví a intentar al día siguiente, esta vez con un toque de color. El reincidente de la semana!.
La falda es de segunda mano, de los ochenta, con un cuello vuelto negro (LaRedoute) y una chaqueta tipo kimono de la diseñadora local Eme. Las botas y el abrigo son de tiendas locales, de temporadas anteriores.

Same vintage skirt in a similar colour combo only that I added a touch (or two) of yellow. Which feels more Me. That short sleeved cardi was not warm enough (but right colour!) so I wore a purple wool shawl over it, which worked in keeping me toasty!. I have a weakness for that shade of purple but I don't wear that shawl frequently as it's difficult to fit under a coat. Obviously, I had to wear my yellow boots (by NorthFace outlet). Coat by Seasalt (old). Some 80's style accessorizing in the form of a charity shopped necklace and a brooch, which was used to keep my massive shawl in place when sitting at the computer.

Misma falda vintage y similar combinación de colores, pero con un toque adicional (o dos) de amarillo. Mucho más de mi estilo. La chaquetita de manga corta amarilla, aunque del color adecuado, no era de mucho abrigo, así que me puse encima un chal morado de lana, muy calentito. Me encanta este tono de morado, pero no me pongo este chal tanto porque es difícil de llevar bajo un abrigo. Evidentemente, también tenía que ponerme las botitas amarillas (NorthFace outlet). Abrigo Seasalt (de hace años). Y un poco de bisutería de aire ochentero, un collar de tienda solidaria y este broche que también sirve para sujetar el chal cuando te sientas a teclear en el ordenador.

We visited my parents at my hometown just for the weekend. As soon we arrived, went for a walk with Mom on Friday evening, and there was a quite festive atmosphere because of the sound and light show, lots of people watching it (or just enjoying the warm temperature).

Fuimos a mi ciudad natal a ver a mis padres durante el fin de semana. En cuanto llegamos nos fuimos a dar una vuelta con mamá el viernes tarde, y había este ambiente tan festivo por el espectáculo de luces, que atrajo a mucha gente (también el buen tiempo!).

Next day we went for a walk through the old town, and took some photos. I like the mix of medieval buildings and street art (not over those medieval walls!). There are some itineraries and guided tours about street art (here)

Al día siguiente salimos a pasear por el centro de la ciudad y tomamos unas fotos. Me gusta esta mezcla de edificios medievales y arte urbano (pero no sobre monumentos antiguos!). Muy interesante y se pueden hacer itinerarios viendo arte urbano y murales.
